Description: Stand up speak out and be heard

A ride to honor the cyclists lost in collisions and to continue our community dialogue about roadway safety

5:30 pm cyclists gather on Smith Street south of Hill Road (location of loss of Kevin Pavlis)

Ride of Silence to the Boise City Hall (route TBA) www.rideofsilence.org

In a Ride of Silence cyclists take to the roads in a slow, silent procession to honor cyclists who have been killed while cycling on public roadways. The Ride of Silence is a free ride that asks its cyclists to ride no faster than 12 mph and remain silent during the ride. The ride will be escorted by the Boise Police Department.

6:00 Rally for Bike Safety - Boise City Hall

Speakers to include Family members of lost cyclists, Boise Mayor Dave Bieter, Roadway Safety Instructors and a chance for every cyclist to introduce himself to the community.

The Rally For Bike Safety will start by honoring the lost cyclists. It will then focus on the responsibilities of all roadway users to abide by the rules of the road and each others safety as fellow citizens.

Cyclists who need to drive to near the start of the ride are asked to park at the Ridley's lot on Bogus Basin Road. Smith Street is about 4/10ths a mile west on Hill road from the Intersection with Bogus Basin road. The Ride of Silence will be about 5 miles long.

All cyclists are welcome and encouraged to come to the ride. All of the community is invited to the Rally for Safety

The Silent Ride and rally is a cooperative event organized by the SouthWest Idaho Cycling Association and its constiuent clubs including:

The scenic 10-mile loop is legendary for both its climbs and its descents, and the last 4 miles of the loop is all downhill on the spectacular Elk Trail. Description: 10K Fun Run/5K Shortcake Walk

This event occurs in conjunction with the 17th Annual Raspberry Festival in Cottonwood, Idaho. Both the run and the walk begin at 8:00 a.m. in front of the Historical Museum at St. Gertrude at 465 Keuterville Road in Cottonwood, Idaho. The course is out-and-back on a pleasant, paved country road with views of the Seven Devils Mountains, the breaks of the Salmon River, the Buffalo Hump Wilderness Area, and the Camas Prairie, making it one of the most scenic runs/walks in Idaho. The sheriff’s office provides traffic control.

$15 pre-registration by Wednesday, July 29, 2009; $18 after July 29 and day of race, includes a commemorative t-shirt.

Water and refreshments provided. Showers available in high school gym next door.

Description: The Relay Race begins atop picturesque Mt. Spokane and winds its way through fifteen different cities en route to the finish line at the beach in beautiful Sandpoint, Idaho. Throughout the 185 mile course runners experience over 50 miles of World Class Centennial Trail, over 60 miles of property adjacent to waterfront, and dash their way through two National Forests.

12 person teams run 3 legs each.

What makes this Race different from any other event is the fact that at mile 118 your team is going to take the ride of their life aboard Silverwood Theme Park’s Tremors Rollercoaster. Get ready to plunge toward the Earth at over 60 miles per hour when your team arrives at this exchange around midnight.

Run Options: 10k trail run or 20k trial run ($50 to fastest runners in 20k)

Location: Starts and finishes at Bogus Basin Mountain Resort lower lodge at 9am.

Race Description: You can expect to gain 2000 vertical feet over a 10K course that circumnavigates Bogus Basin Resort. Pick up the orange trail arrows from the lower lodge area. This takes you near the summit and then drops around the NE side to Elk Meadow trail. Follow the orange arrows to the new section of trail heading back down to the lower lodge via Shaker Ridge, there you'll find a new section of single track that drops you near Widowmaker run and the World Cup jump site.

9/12/2009 Salmon Marathon Salmon, ID Tendoy Start / Island Park Finish 6:45 A.M.
Description: Forget the potatoes. Come experience the real Idaho.

This is a fast, scenic, point-to-point race.

Starting in Tendoy, Idaho (home to Sacajawea, the Agaidika Shoshone woman who accompanied Lewis and Clark on their historic journey) the course follows the Old Lemhi Road down onto Main Street and into Salmon. After crossing the Salmon River at the end of Main Street, runners will turn left onto Island Park and the finish line.

Approximately 21 miles of the course is dirt or gravel and dirt surface. The last five miles are on pavement.

With only two hills on the course and a drop of 1000 feet over the marathon distance, this course is easy on your legs -- and your times.
