Sun Valley, ID - The 3rd Annual Sun Valley / Ketchum US Half Marathon is now accepting registrations for the 13.1 mile race on Sunday May 28th. The Half Marathon will start at 8:00am on Sunday May 28th in the Sun Valley Village. Over 400 runners will compete in the race, including a handful of elite runners from Idaho and surrounding states. The picturesque loop course runs from Sun Valley Village through Elkhorn, Ketchum using much of the Wood River path system. The finish line festival in Sun Valley Village will run until 1:00 pm and will feature music, food and beverages, free massage therapists and the race awards ceremony.
Runners and fast walkers are invited to participate by entering as individuals or as a 2-person relay featuring a 6.9 and 6.2-mile segment. St. Luke's and the YMCA of Wood River Valley are sponsoring the team relay. A transition area will be set up at Hemingway School in Ketchum.

Forget the potatoes. Come experience the real Idaho.
This is a fast, scenic, point-to-point race.
Starting in Tendoy, Idaho (home to Sacajawea, the Agaidika Shoshone woman who accompanied Lewis and Clark on their historic journey) the course follows the Old Lemhi Road down onto Main Street and into Salmon. After crossing the Salmon River at the end of Main Street, runners will turn left onto Island Park and the finish line.
Approximately 21 miles of the course is dirt or gravel and dirt surface. The last five miles are on pavement.
With only two hills on the course and a drop of 1000 feet over the marathon distance, this course is easy on your legs -- and your times.
